Cordless is the new standard.
Effective June 1, 2024, all window covering products sold in the United States must be cordless or have inaccessible cords or approved tensioning devices. This new safety standard from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Window Covering Manufacturers Association follows a mandate already in place in Canada.
Responsible manufacturers try to produce as safe a product as we can. Consumer awareness is the other piece to eliminating dangerous occurrences. Whether you are a homeowner or a designer of window treatments, you should be equally aware of the issues and provide as safe a product as you can in your interiors.
Other countries currently have laws in place regarding cord safety and we believe our product meets those industry standards as well. We welcome dialog and feedback regarding our efforts to provide a safer way of making a traditional Roman Shade.
